Straight answers to the questions we hear most about garage door repairs, springs, motors, remotes and new doors.

General questions

What areas do you service?

We're based at 230A Georges River Rd, Croydon Park, and cover Canterbury, Campsie, Belmore, Ashbury, Hurlstone Park, Earlwood, Lakemba, Burwood, Croydon, Ashfield, Enfield, Strathfield, Belfield and the surrounding Inner West and Canterbury-Bankstown suburbs.

What are your opening hours?

We're open every day, weekends included, from 8am to 8pm.

Do you offer same-day garage door repairs?

Yes, for most repairs. Call early and we'll give you an arrival time. Our vans carry springs, cables, rollers, remotes and common opener parts.

Do you give free quotes?

Quotes for new garage doors and openers are free. For repairs, we'll explain the fault and give you a firm price before starting any work.

Which garage door types do you work on?

Roller doors, sectional overhead doors, tilt doors, side-hinged doors, commercial roller shutters and strata car park doors, plus the motors, remotes and keypads that operate them.

Why is my garage door so noisy?

Noise usually comes from dry or worn rollers, loose hardware, a spring that's lost tension, or grit in the tracks. A service will clean, adjust and replace the worn parts.

How long does a garage door last?

A well-maintained steel door often lasts 15 to 20 years or more. Springs, rollers, cables and motors wear out sooner and can be replaced on their own.

My garage door is stuck. What should I do?

Don't force it. Keep people and cars clear, unplug the opener if it's safe to do so, and call us on (02) 8530 6146. A stuck door often has a broken spring or cable, which needs a technician.

Can you automate my manual garage door?

Yes. Most roller, sectional and tilt doors can be fitted with an opener once they're correctly balanced. We'll service the door first so the motor isn't fighting it.

How do I book?

Call (02) 8530 6146 or send a request through our contact page. Tell us your suburb, door type and what's happening, and we'll take it from there.

Repairs, parts & new doors

Can you repair my garage door on the same day?

In most cases, yes. We're open 7 days from 8am to 8pm and keep springs, cables, rollers and common opener parts on hand. Call early and we'll give you an arrival window.

Is it worth repairing an old garage door?

Often it is. Springs, cables, rollers and motors can all be replaced individually. If the panels are badly rusted, warped or the door is unsafe, a replacement can cost less over time and we'll give you both prices to compare.

Why does my garage door open then go back down?

This is usually the opener's safety system reacting to something: misaligned or dirty safety beams, a door that's binding in the tracks, or a force setting that needs adjustment. A failing spring can also make the door feel too heavy to the motor.

How long does a garage door installation take?

A standard single or double door is usually removed and replaced in one day, including the motor. Custom-sized doors take longer to manufacture, so the wait is mostly lead time rather than installation.

Do I need a new motor with a new door?

Not always. If your existing opener is in good condition and rated for the new door's size and weight, we can reuse it. Older openers often lack modern safety features, so we'll tell you honestly if it's due for replacement.

Can you match my house colour?

Most door ranges come in a wide palette of standard steel colours, plus timber-look and custom finishes. Bring a photo of your house or trim and we'll help you pick a match.

Why is my roller door so heavy?

The spring tension inside the drum has dropped over time. A technician can re-tension it so the door lifts easily again. Never try to adjust roller door springs yourself; they hold a lot of stored energy.

Can you motorise my existing roller door?

Usually yes, provided the door is in good condition and correctly balanced. We'll service and tension the door first so the new motor isn't fighting it.

Can one damaged sectional panel be replaced?

Often, yes, if the panel profile and colour are still available. On older doors where an exact match isn't made any more, we'll discuss whether replacing the door is the better option.

How long do sectional door springs last?

Springs are rated by cycles, where one open and close is a cycle. Standard springs on a busy household door often last somewhere around 5 to 10 years. Higher-cycle springs are available if your door gets heavy use.

Can a tilt door be automated?

Yes. Most tilt doors can take a ceiling-mounted opener with a suitable arm, provided the door is properly balanced first.

Should I repair or replace my garage door motor?

If the motor is fairly new and the fault is a single part like a gear, board or sensor, a repair is usually worthwhile. For older openers where parts are scarce or several things have worn, a new opener is often better value.

Can I open my garage door from my phone?

Yes. Many current openers include Wi-Fi or can be fitted with a smart module so you can open, close and check the door from an app.

Will a new motor work with my existing remotes?

Sometimes, but usually not. New openers use newer, more secure code systems. We supply and program new remotes when we fit the motor.

How much does garage door spring replacement cost?

It depends on the door type, spring size and whether one or both springs are replaced. Call us with your door type and we'll give you a clear price range over the phone and a firm price on site before any work starts.

Can I still open the door with a broken spring?

We strongly advise against it. Without the spring the door's full weight is on you or the motor, and it can drop without warning.

Why has my garage remote stopped working?

Start with the battery. If a new battery doesn't help, the remote may have lost its pairing, the opener's receiver may be faulty, or nearby interference may be blocking the signal. We can test all three.

What are your hours for urgent call-outs?

We're open every day, including weekends, from 8am to 8pm. Call as early as you can and we'll fit you in as a priority.

Can I service my own garage door?

You can keep the tracks clean, check that the safety beams are clear and test the auto-reverse with a soft object. Anything involving springs, cables or tension should be left to a technician.

Do you offer maintenance contracts for strata buildings?

Yes. We can set up a regular service schedule to suit the door's usage and provide notes after each visit for the building's records.

Garage door playing up?

Local technicians, 7 days a week, 8am to 8pm.
